- Turn off your computer. Remove the battery
- Turn the laptop upside down
- Remove screws securing the hard drive cover and remove the hard drive.

- Turn off your notebook. Disconnect your notebook from the optional port replicator.
Disconnect the AC adapter, modem cable, and network cable, if connected to your notebook. Disconnect all peripheral devices connected to your notebook. - Turn your notebook over so the bottom is facing up, and then remove battery.
- Loosen the hard drive bay cover screw (this screw cannot be removed), then remove the hard drive bay cover.
4. Slide the hard drive away from the hard drive connector.
5. Lift the hard drive kit out of your notebook.
Important:Be careful not to bend the connector pins on the hard drive kit.
6. Remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the hard drive kit bracket.
Remove the bracket from the hard drive.
Note: Keep the bracket kit for the new hard drive installation.
